Event: Paw Prints – Dallas Zoo Art Shoe
When: Sat, May 11 9:00 am – Sun, May 12 5:00 pm
Description: Stroll among tents filled with fine art, including paintings, sculpture, ceramics, wood carvings, photography, and hand-crafted jewelry while viewing wildlife in naturalistic settings.
Visit the exhibition area featuring unique paintings created by Dallas Zoo residents through animal enrichment programs. Enjoy live music and relax at the wine patio overlooking the Flamingo Pond. Dine at restaurants and food carts throughout the park. A special Mother’s Day brunch will be offered from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Sunday, May 12. Advance reservations for brunch are required. Description: The Trinity River Wind Festival presented by NRG, parent company of Reliant and Green Mountain Energy, is an event in Dallas to celebrate the beauty and spirit of the wide open spaces along the Trinity River.

Kroger and Sprint join with NRG and the Trinity River Corridor Project to bring a variety of entertainment and activities to the festival.

Event: 2013 White Rock East Garden Tour!
When: Sun, May 19 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Description: Mark your calendars for the 2013 White Rock East Garden Tour! The Garden Tour will be held on May 19th, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please consider volunteering to work a shift this year – and recruit a neighbor or two if you can.

The shifts will be filled on a first come/first served basis so please email me two or more options for your time and location preference. Please also include your t-shirt size.

Locations: 1418 Bella Vista, 9410 Hermosa, 9329 Creel Creek (guest garden)

Shift 1: 9:45am to 12:15pm
Shift 2: 12:15pm to 2:45pm
Shift 3: 2:45pm to 5:15pm

We need volunteers at each garden to answer questions, direct guests, hand out brochures, and potentially collect money. Most shifts are stationed in shaded areas and water will be available. All volunteers will receive a free t-shirt and free admission to the gardens.

This event generates money that goes back to Casa Linda for beautification projects and social events for all of us to enjoy.

Please pass this along to any neighbors and thank you in advance for volunteering! Don’t forget that we will once again have a potluck for all of the volunteers after the event, and it will be located at a home in Little Forest Hills this year.
